CountrysideNK is a partnership contract between Hill Holt Wood and North Kesteven District Council maintaining and providing public access to NKDC owned green space and a network of branded countryside walks; Stepping Out, Ridges and Furrows and Spires and Steeples. Although predominantly countryside focused it also extends to carrying out grounds maintenance at other NKDC facilities including the Natural World Centre at Whisby Nature Park and ONE NK Leisure Centre in North Hykeham. The primary aim for Hill Holt Wood is to provide a high-quality service promoting memorable visitor experience on well-maintained countryside footpaths and safe and attractive green space. In turn using the countryside and green space for events that connect people with nature and encourage activity that can improve well-being and contribute to a healthy lifestyle. This requires a dedicated team in which the role of a CountrysideNK Ranger is demanding but a varied and enjoyable one. They have daily access to the North Kesteven countryside be it out on a footpath with a mower, carrying out way-marking repairs or leading a guided walk. Improving the presentation of a green space, conserving nature, working with volunteers or engaging with the public.
