Salary : £24,688 Pro rata
Contract : Part Time, Permanent
Hours : 16 hours per week - 2 days per week between Mon-Fri, 8.30-4.30pm
Annual Leave is 25 days per annum + bank holidays (pro rata)
Overview
THE ROLE
Working for a nationally award-winning social enterprise and charity you will be operating within the workshop environment producing various wooden products; including, but not limited to, burial memorial products (bird/bat/owl boxes and benches etc) and constructing other outdoor furniture and items required for the Hill Holt Wood site. There will also be an opportunity to work alongside other rangers to progress on-site/off-site construction projects including the Artist Studio Treehouse build at Hill Holt Wood and also offsite contracts requiring constructed elements.
Hill Holt Wood is a nationally recognised and award-winning Environmental Social Enterprise. It currently employs 40 full and part time rangers and is engaged in a wide range of activities including the education of young people, contracts with the local council, events and hire, extensive forestry operations and eco-construction. It has enjoyed considerable success over the last 20 years and continues to build on its strong position focusing on sustainability, environmentalism, conservation, and social awareness.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
-
Experience working with wood working machinery, power tools and hand tools.

Be able to interpret technical drawings and use this information to produce physical products and complete construction tasks.

Be able to manage a continual workload to achieve timely targets.

Have a keen eye for detail and good communication skills.

Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.

Progress live construction projects alongside other members of a team.

Experience working in a workshop environment.
Full driving licence essential.
