Contract : Part Time - Fixed Term Contract until July 2021
Hours : Term time only - 30 hours per week - Monday to Friday - 9.30am - 3.30pm
Hill Holt Wood is a nationally recognised and award-winning Environmental Social Enterprise. It currently employs 34 full and part time rangers and is engaged in a wide range of activities including the education of young people, extensive forestry operations, contracts with the local council, eco-construction, both design and build (Design: HHW), and events and hire, including the Hive Café. It has enjoyed considerable success over the last 17 years and continues to build on its strong position focusing on sustainability, environmentalism, conservation and social awareness.
The job will involve assisting and supporting learners aged 11-24 with additional learning needs as outlined in their Educational Health Care Plan (EHCP).
The Learning Support Rangers (LSR) main role is to provide support for the learner/s, for whom they are timetabled for, that have an EHCP.
The LSR will ensure that the learner/s can integrate as fully as possible in the activities generally undertaken by the other young people in the class and make progress.
The applicant will assist and support the ranger in charge of the group with activities; these will include basic Math’s, English, ICT and either Horticulture, Construction, Animal Care or Heritage Woodcraft.
Full driving licence essential.
