Construction Pathway Lead

Salary : £19,368 per annum pro rata

Contract : Full or Part Time Available, Permanent

Hours : 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8.30-4.30pm

Holidays : 24 days holiday entitlement plus bank holidays

Overview

Hill Holt Wood is a nationally recognised and award-winning Environmental Social Enterprise. It currently employs 42 full and part time rangers and is engaged in a wide range of activities including the education of young people, extensive forestry operations, contracts with the local council, eco-construction, both design and build (Design: HHW), and events and hire, including the Hive Café. It has enjoyed considerable success over the last 18 years and continues to build on its strong position focusing on sustainability, environmentalism, conservation and social awareness.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Planning, and general co-ordination and delivery of the Vocational (AIMVOC) Level 1 and Level 2 Environmental Construction Pathway. Learners have a variety of complex needs from behavioural to educational.

  • Liaising with the Head of Education to ensure high quality of provision.

  • Preparation of high-quality resources and materials for teaching sessions.

  • Providing regular marking and feedback to learners.

  • Maintaining learner records and tracking progress.

  • Attend regular team meetings and standardisation workshops.

  • Support the Head of Education with compliance activity to regulatory and awarding bodies such as Ofsted.

  • General Behaviour and pastoral support to learners.

Essential Skills

 

  • Relevant Construction Based Qualification Level 3 (Minimum) or Equivalent Industry Experience.

  • PTTLS/AET or other teaching qualification.

  • Excellent classroom management skills.

  • Ability to demonstrate excellent communication skills and the ability to relate to a diverse range of learners.

  • Be able to manage a continual workload to achieve timely targets.

  • Ability to work effectively as a member of a team.

  • General IT Skills, ie email/Word Documents/Teams etc.

Desirable Skills

  • 1 years teaching experience.

  • Experience of delivering training or supporting young people 16-24.

Full driving licence essential.
