Rangers Gavin and Hollie were overjoyed to pick up awards from the Education Business Partnership two weeks ago. Both were nominated by young people which made the awards extra special. Gavin was nominated for his work on the EBP Project Lumen and Hollie for her interesting and enjoyable straw-bale building workshops at Lincolnshire Construction Week at the Epic Centre.
Today we collected the last load of 2-litre plastic bottles from the lovely folks at Lincoln Student’s Union. We will be snipping them into shape and building the last of the walls for our greenhouse, the same one we recently started with St.Francis’ School which is a clone of one we helped build on their site earlier in the year.
At Sir William Robertson Academy Ranger Gavin presented over a hundred certificates to the Year 7s that completed the rural skills award in September during their camp over. This was the second year in a row that the school brought over their year 7s to camp over and build some bonds of friendship and shared memories with the intention of giving them a great start to their secondary stage education. During their time with us they completed species surveys and tree height surveys to help us gauge the health of our woodland. The data will be compared with next year and hopefully identify if we have any issues that need addressing.
