Sliding, planting, chartering and raking

Sliding, planting, chartering and raking

It was the 800th anniversary of the tree charter this week and to commemorate the occasion the Woodland Trust launched the new Charter for Trees, Woods and People at Lincoln Castle. Of course we couldn’t miss the opportunity to get out there and get involved. We’ve been a guardian of the charter, gathering signatures for over a year and our Senior Management team went along to the launch event. BBC Lincolnshire Look North came along to cover our special event at Big Wood where we were clearing brash and planting trees with the entire Hill Holt Wood student body and Ranger team.

Sam and Vicky went down to London to visit Groundworks (London), the highlight of which was a visit to Olympic Park to climb and ride the Orbit.

And of course we’ve been down to South Witham Marsh again to keep up with the material removal to help the wild flowers next year.
